"Powell's protagonist, Hank Paull, is a cross between a noir-style gumshoe, a Brooklyn bad-ass, and a wise-cracking contemporary detective. Paull, a private investigator whose background is military intelligence, is one of the coolest characters I've read.

Steve writes what he loved reading as a young boy and then a young man: action and adventure centered around a heroic character who saves the day. It started with comic books but grew lustier and more violent with each stage of his growth.
Curiosity drove him to Science Fiction and a fascination with the various forms of evil needing to be vanquished by his heroes expanded his little fictional universe to include vampires, werewolves, and super-powered villains. When he began writing in his teens, these subjects swam into his conscience and then onto the page. They have evolved over time into the thrilling works you see now.
